What it means to get life together

Life has many areas and all need to be in order and under control where possible to get your life together. Getting your life together is a multifaceted process that involves various aspects of your personal, professional, health, and emotional well-being. Getting life together can mean different to everyone based on your life and it may keep changing as you grow in life. But it essentially means having everything in order and control in your daily life and having a direction, and purpose in various aspects of your life.

Why do you get lost in your Get My Life Together journey?

We all start with enthusiasm to get life together but after some months we are lost again. Derailment for a few days is normal because of unforeseen situations, falling sick, unexpected load of work but after a couple of days you will be back. But if you are not able to keep your life together and lose track for a long time you will not be able to get your life together. The most common reasons for this are:

  • Lack of Clarity
  • Getting Overwhelmed by Tasks
  • Lack of Consistency
  • Not Adjusting Strategies

Of these, the most common reason is being inconsistent. To deal with all these the best solution that I find is using this spreadsheet checklist. I don’t need to write in it every time, I have everything I need to be organized in 1 place, I can see what I need to do today on the dashboard and trick the checklist, and most importantly it helps me visualize with graphs and calculation to know my progress and setbacks.

Why Checklists are important to get life together

I highly recommend everyone must have a checklist in life to get their life together. I use a spreadsheet-based checklist to get my life together. Here is why you should use the same:

  • Keep you consistent: We all start with enthusiasm to get life together but after some months we are lost again because we do not
  • Bring Organization and Structure: Checklists help organize tasks and goals into manageable and prioritized lists. They provide a clear structure, making it easier to understand what needs to be done.
  • Help Visualization of Progress: Having a checklist allows you to visualize your progress as you complete tasks. Checking items off a list provides a sense of accomplishment and motivation.
  • Reduces Mental Load: Writing down tasks on a checklist frees up mental space, reducing stress and anxiety. You don’t have to remember everything, as the checklist serves as a reliable reference.
  • Prevent Overlooking Tasks: Checklists act as a comprehensive reminder, ensuring that no important tasks are overlooked. They help avoid the stress of forgetting essential responsibilities.
